MASSIVE MEETING THIS SUNDAY

LEICESTER Speedway host their biggest meeting in years this Sunday.

Berwick are the visitors to the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena at Beaumont Park Sports Complex in the first leg of their Championship Shield semi-final (5.30).
And the Watling JCB Lions have been boosted by the news Yorkshire bulldog Josh Bates is ready to return to the saddle after three weeks out with a hand injury.
Leicester are looking for a handy home lead to take into the deciding leg at Shielfield Park the following Saturday, June 22.
Said Bates: “I just can’t wait to get going again, I hate being off the bike and I’m not always the best at watching.
“Thankfully I feel good again and I’m raring to go for Leicester at the weekend.
“I’m really enjoying the season with Leicester, we’ve got a great team and we want a big lead against Berwick, that has to be the target.
“It’s a big meeting for Leicester as a club and we will need all the fans to get right behind us.”
Sunday signals the start of a busy week for Stewart Dickson’s men who head to Somerset next Wednesday before the trip to the borders.
Dickson has named the following side: Scott Nicholls, Ellis Perks, Josh Bates, Ryan Douglas, Richie Worrall, Jack Thomas, Connor Mountain.
